It's true, anyone can suggest an edit to the details of a Google My Business listing, including your competition. These user-generated changes can be made live on one or more of your listings and you might not even be notified by Google that the changes have gone live to the public. This includes changing your business address, name, phone number, hours, categories and attributes.
The platform reaches out to GMB on the set schedule and compares all the GMB data points compared to the prior sync. If any data point of any listing is different from the prior sync, the variance is logged and a report is generated.
Account admins can view your reports by going to Settings >
Google Audit
and select a log report from the drop-down.
You can also see the individual location changes over time in the Manage Locations detail pane.
This is the industry's first available process to provide 100% visibility to any GMB listing changes at enterprise scale.
