Review Settings Overview

Review Settings Overview

Under Settings, head to Review Settings. This gives you greater control over how your review responses flow.
Settings-Review Settings
Reply Approval

The first setting controls whether a reply to a review is sent to the Outbox (which is the default) or sent for approval. If 'Send it for Approval' is selected, you then select which Editor reviews will be sent to. Say you have a regional director that wants final overview over every review response, you would send it for their approval, and then from there the response would be sent out.

Reply Confirmation Settings
Three settings here, each with option to Require or Disable, the default for all three is Disable:
  1. Review reply confirmation-when set to Require, users will get the following message when they select Reply in the ReviewsInbox:
    Reply Confirmation Message

  2. Review close confirmation-
  3. Review removal confirmation-Both Closed and Removed are found in the same spot in the ReviewsInbox:

Delay Before Posting

This is very important. When replying to a review this is the delay before the reply is posted, and how long the reply sits in the Outbox. Having at least a ten minute delay is recommended. There is the option to send immediately but that comes with risks. Think about it, you reply to a review, and then realize there was a typo or the wrong information. Having a buffer period can prevent mistakes.

Review Synchronization

Two options here:
Reindex reviews monthly to identify removed reviews
Reindex reviews monthly to identify updated reviews
This is crucial because reviews can be updated or removed from Google. This article has more information.

View 'Removed' Folder

A toggle switch if you want the 'Removed' folder to appear in the inbox or not.

Identify & Mark Review Language

This is useful if you have locations across multilingual countries or regions. Toggled to on and you can tag each new review based on the language used in the review. So if you have a person assigned to reviews in French, for example, they can use the French tag to see all reviews left in French.

Start Date for ReviewsInbox

This is a cutoff period you can set for the inbox if you do not wish to see reviews before a certain date.

Review Settings give you more control over the ReviewsInbox and allow safety nets for you and your team to eliminate errors.
