Why are my review totals in LocalClarity and Google different?
When LocalClarty initially connects to your GBP account, all existing historic reviews are pulled in and on a go-forward basis all new reviews are added as they are posted.
In cases where there is a higher count of reviews in LocalClarity than in Google, this is often because in our application we maintain a record of all active and deleted reviews. Once a review is removed from Google that record is lost forever, however we maintain all reviews so that our users can have a comprehensive understanding of their review insights and themes.
Why are reviews removed?
The reason a review might be removed falls into one of two buckets: First, the user simply deleted their review, thus removing it from Google completely. The second being that Google’s review filter has indicated that the review is potentially spam, and Google has removed the review themselves.
Unfortunately, there is no way to know if a review was removed by the user or Google, however a few common reasons that a review may be marked as spam are:
If the same exact review content is appearing on multiple sources such as Facebook, Tripadviosr, etc.
If users are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, the IP address would indicate the reviews are all coming from the same location
Similar review content/comments posted within a few hours of each other
These are the most common situations that typically trigger Google to assume a review to be spam.
Reporting
When it comes to reporting, in an effort to keep the ReviewsInbox™ organized and to ensure that all charts are reporting on only active reviews, we have added a tool to allow our users to mark reviews as removed.
This tool can help to better manage reviews using the distribution of active and removed. Within the platform, there will be a then be a larger record complied of all review data.
If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach out to us at hello@localclarity.com, we would be happy to help.
